Tokonoma II - Hiroshi Soga

20–22 & 27–29 March 2026
13:00–18:00
For the second edition of Tokonoma, Art San Gallery presents an installation by Hiroshi Soga, a Japanese artist whose work is remarkable for its consistency and for the unusual range of traditions it brings together.
Within the tokonoma, the installation as a whole becomes a dialogue between image and object, thought and ritual, gesture and structure: a concentrated field where transformation, interdependence, and the cycle of nature are made visible.
Titled Mizu, the work evokes water and the continuous movement through which life is renewed.
This installation is in dialogue with two essays published by the gallery: The Butsudan Painting and the Cave of Lascaux and The Painting as a Game of Go.
Institutional, curatorial, and collector inquiries are welcome.
