Art San Galleryでは、版画家・鈴木広行の展覧会を開催します。町家の1階にモノクローム作品、地下空間に色彩によるモノタイプ作品を展示し、二つの異なる空間を通してその制作を紹介します。

From 1973 to 1977, Japanese artist Hiroyuki Suzuki worked at Atelier 17 in Paris, the experimental printmaking workshop founded by Stanley William Hayter. In this written interview, Suzuki looks back on his time at Atelier 17, recalling Hayter, his close relationship with Hector Saunier, the workshop’s international atmosphere, and the experiences that continued to shape his work after Paris.

Through vivid color, layered materials, and a charged expressive presence, the work enters into dialogue with the legacy of German Expressionism while remaining rooted in contemporary mixed-media.

Cet entretien avec le peintre français Sébastien Couëffic accompagne l’exposition Oil Paintings on Japanese Shikishi Boards présentée dans la galérie Art San au Japon. L’artiste y évoque son expérience expérimentale de la peinture à l’huile sur shikishi, un support traditionnel japonais historiquement lié à l’encre et à la calligraphie.

Peu d’artistes brouillent les frontières entre peinture et sculpture avec autant de liberté qu’Ortaire de Coupigny. Dans sa série emblématique des boîtes de sardines, un objet industriel banal devient le support d’un travail artistique singulier, où se mêlent sculpture, peinture et intervention sur la matière. Ces œuvres se situent à la croisée de plusieurs traditions de l’art moderne : l’assemblage, certaines références au Pop Art, ou encore une sensibilité proche d’un surré
