Gujo Hachiman Art Walk 2025: A Cultural Journey Through Galleries and Streets in Gifu’s Castle Town

Nestled in the heart of Gujo Hachiman, Gifu’s Castle Town, the Gujo Hachiman Art Walk 2025 invites visitors on a cultural journey through galleries, streets, and everyday spaces. Known worldwide for the Gujo Odori dance festival and its historic mountaintop castle, Gujo Hachiman is also becoming a vibrant hub for creativity. This summer, four art galleries—together with cultural venues, cafés, restaurants, and shops—transform the town into a living exhibition where tradition meets contemporary art.

  • KOKU 現代アートギャラリー – A contemporary art gallery presenting modern and experimental works.

  • 4月の森 (Shigatsu no mori) – A gallery focused on creativity and Asian art from Japan & South Korea.

  • Art San Gallery – International art gallery based in Gujo Hachiman, showcasing Japanese and overseas artists.

  • ソガヒロシのアトリエ (Soga Hiroshi’s Atelier) – The working studio of painter Hiroshi Soga, offering a rare chance to encounter art where it is created.
