Vertical Drift presents three slender fish shaped and painted byOrtaire de Coupigny, arranged in a gentle upward movement within a pale, translucent sea. The resin surface creates the impression of water held in suspension, allowing colour, texture, and form to emerge with quiet clarity. The brushed metal lid anchors the composition, while the artist’s signature subtly completes the piece. Through this interplay of sculpture, painting, and enclosure, Vertical Drift captures a moment of serene motion within the confines of the tin.
