Tokonoma is a recurring invitation centered on a single work chosen for its capacity to inhabit the gallery’s tokonoma alcove.

Each presentation brings together a primary work and a responsive element within the architectural frame of the tokonoma, where subdued lateral light shapes the perception of surface and proportion.

The program privileges presence, scale, and silence.
