Art San Gallery is pleased to announce the summer exhibition Îles du Ponant featuring recent oil pastel works by Clotilde Aksin-Frappier. The exhibition will take place from July 29 to August 10, 2025, at CIPM Marins & Capitaines, La Grée, on Île d’Arz, situated in the Gulf of Morbihan, southern Brittany.
A vernissage (opening reception) will be held on Wednesday, July 30 at 11:00 AM.
The title Îles du Ponant refers to the group of inhabited islands off the western coast of France, from Brittany to Vendée—including Ouessant, Belle-Île, Groix, and Île d’Arz itself. Through her oil pastel technique, Clotilde Aksin-Frappier reflects the diverse textures, light conditions, and quiet tension between sea and land that define these island territories.
The exhibition venue, a maritime heritage site at the CIPM Marins & Capitaines, echoes these themes by situating the artworks within a space that honors the region’s seafaring history.
