Below is a guide to shikishi dimensions, including their Japanese names and traditional uses.


Standard Shikishi Sizes:


  1. Large (大色紙, Dai-shikishi)

    • Dimensions: 24.2 x 27.3 cm (approximately 9.5 x 10.7 inches)

    • Commonly used for art, painting and calligraphy.


  2. Small (小色紙, Sho-shikishi)

    • Dimensions: 18.2 x 21.2 cm (approximately 7.2 x 8.3 inches)

    • Popular for smaller works or personal gifts.


  3. Mini (ミニ色紙, Mini-shikishi)

    • Dimensions: 12.1 x 13.6 cm (approximately 4.8 x 5.4 inches)
