Tokonoma IV - Hiroyuki Suzuki

For the fourth edition of Tokonoma, Art San Gallery presents being shaped n°1, a mixed-media work on canvas, together with a ceramic flower pot by Hiroyuki Suzuki.

Black forms against a golden surface find a quiet counterpoint in the pale ceramic flower pot below. The fine stems and arching leaves of the grasses extend the composition into the surrounding space, connecting the two works without closing the interval between them.

​

Lateral light reveals the textures of canvas, ceramic, and wood. Within the architectural frame of the tokonoma, each element retains its own presence while contributing to a measured balance of form, material, and space.
