Titled Back to School, this artwork by Ortaire de Coupigny combines humour and subtle storytelling within the confines of a sardine can. Encased in translucent resin, two painted fish sit side by side, their wide eyes and slightly somber expressions evoking the mood of two children reluctantly heading back to school.
The contrast between the vibrant artistry and the fish’s less-than-enthusiastic expressions invites viewers to smile at this lighthearted yet relatable take on childhood moments.
With Back to School, Ortaire de Coupigny cleverly blends wit and charm, transforming an ordinary object into a snapshot of everyday life, tinged with humor and nostalgia.
