The Calm Navigator presents a single elongated fish, its head turned forward as if guiding a silent journey. Ortaire de Coupigny shapes the figure by hand before applying layers of colour that catch the light beneath the resin surface. The long, narrow tin reinforces the sense of direction, giving the fish an almost meditative presence as it appears to drift in tranquil waters. With its restrained palette and steady gaze, this piece highlights the artist’s ability to transform ordinary materials into small, self-contained worlds of quiet movement.
