In Red Snap Mood, Ortaire de Coupigny captures the bold presence of a deep red fish, suspended in resin within the confines of a sardine can. The sculpted form, rich in texture and hue, is framed by a green-edged tin and a delicately engraved wooden panel. The contrast between the fish’s vivid red and the soft, translucent resin lends the piece a sense of quiet drama, while its format adds a wink of humor and everyday familiarity.
