Aquatic Quartet - Mixed-Media Assemblage
Aquatic Quartet is an original mixed-media assemblage by Ortaire de Coupigny, created in an aluminum sardine tin with painted fish, resin, pigments, wax, and engraved detail. Four vivid fish appear suspended beneath a glossy surface, forming a compact aquatic scene where color, material, and containment become central to the work.
On the right side, a rolled aluminum element with an engraved portrait and signature introduces a quiet architectural division within the composition. Combining resin, pigments, wax, engraving, and sculptural detail, the work reflects Ortaire de Coupigny’s distinctive approach to everyday materials: precise, tactile, and unmistakably one of a kind.
