Olivia Lomenech Gill: Clever Crow Original Artworks at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books, Tokyo
From November 16 to 26, 2026, Daikanyama Tsutaya Books in Tokyo will present a selection of original illustrations by Olivia Lomenech Gill from Clever Crow, winner of the 2025 Carnegie Medal for Illustration.

Written by Chris Butterworth, Clever Crow invites readers to look more closely at a familiar yet often misunderstood bird. Through observations of crows using tools, remembering hidden food and playing in the snow, the book reveals their intelligence, curiosity and resourcefulness.
Olivia Lomenech Gill’s illustrations bring these encounters to life through expressive marks, layered textures and close attention to the birds’ movements and character.
The exhibition celebrates the Japanese edition, 『すごいぞカラス』, published by Hisakata Child and translated by animal behaviour specialist Hajime Matsubara.
Presented in collaboration with Art San Gallery, the exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter the original artworks beyond the printed page. The exhibited works will also be available to purchase.
Based in Brittany, France, Olivia Lomenech Gill is also known for illustrating J. K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Her work on Where My Wellies Take Me was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 2014.
